Overview

Role: Content Designer
Team: Content Design + Visual Design + Marketing + Web + Education

Intuit Accountants had a growing library of educational content, but resources were spread across different experiences and could be difficult to find. Behind the scenes, publishing new content was also a slow, manual process.

I helped create a centralized Education Resource Center that made it easier for accountants to discover useful content while giving our internal team a faster, more scalable way to publish and manage it.

Challenge

The work went beyond bringing content into one place.

We needed to create an experience that could support a growing library without overwhelming customers. At the same time, our existing publishing process could take 8–9 days, making it difficult to keep resources current.

The new experience needed to work for the people looking for content and the teams managing it.

My role

As the content designer, I focused on how customers would find, understand, and move through the Education Resource Center.

I partnered closely with visual design and cross-functional teams to shape the page hierarchy, organize resources, develop clear labels and supporting copy, and determine how content should be surfaced throughout the experience.

My work helped connect the content structure with the visual experience so customers could quickly understand what was available and where to go next.

Shaping the content structure

With a large collection of resources, one of our biggest questions was how to organize the content in a way that felt useful to accountants.

I helped explore how resources could be grouped and prioritized based on what customers were looking for rather than how the content was organized internally.

Working with my visual design partner, we refined the hierarchy to balance featured resources with opportunities to browse and discover more. The resulting structure gave customers clear entry points while creating room for the Education Resource Center to grow over time.

Designing for findability

As the content library expanded, customers needed a way to quickly narrow down what was relevant to them.

I helped shape the filtering experience, including how resources were categorized and the language used to describe those options. Labels needed to be clear at a glance while remaining flexible enough to support different topics and types of content.

The goal was to make finding a resource feel intuitive without requiring customers to understand the way our teams organized content behind the scenes.

Improving the publishing model

The Education Resource Center also gave us an opportunity to rethink how educational content was managed.

Previously, publishing a new resource could take 8–9 days. The new centralized publishing model reduced that process to under five minutes, giving the team more control over updates and making it easier to keep content timely.

Instead of solving for a single page, we created a system that could support ongoing publishing and future growth.

Results

The new Education Resource Center created a clearer path to educational content for accountants and a much more efficient publishing experience for our team.

  • 30% increase in unique visitors
  • 44% increase in time on page
  • Publishing reduced from 8–9 days to under five minutes

The work also received Intuit’s Innovator Star Award in 2024.

The result was a content system built to grow, making resources easier for accountants to find and significantly faster for our team to publish.
